Title: Phonics and Beginning Reading (AL 101) Category: Arts - Language

Description: Opening the world of reading, this a phonetically based program using Sing, Spell, Read, and Write and Explode the Code. each child will be given an age appropriate assessment to determine workbook placement. First Semester includes handwriting, stories, fables, and nursery rhymes to provide a rich serving of literature and language. Second Semester moves towards applying newly acquired skills using journaling. Each student performs at his/her level.

Title: Plus Reading (AL 102) Category: Arts - Language

Description:  This class is a continuation of basic phonics progressing through digraphs and diphthongs.  Students will also engage in reading, reading comprehension, and listening skill exercises. Spelling and dictation will provide opportunity  for practical application of newly acquired skills.
