Title: Sign Language (FL 103) Category: Foreign Language

Description: This will be an interesting and fun class especially for children because they will learn to communicate in a way that comes naturally to them. They will learn to use body language and facial expressions in combination with basic Sign Language. Students will touch on American Sign Language and Signed English. By the end of the course students should have a working knowledge of basic signs, several Christian songs and communicate the gospel in sign.

Title: Sign Language II (FL 104) Category: Foreign Language

Description: This will be a challenging and fun class for older students or students who have already taken Sign Language classes. Student will learn ASL syntax and graduate from Sign Language vocabulary to communicating with and through Sign Language. Students will understand the difference between American Sign Language and Signed English. Students are required to attend at least one Silent Supper, which is when the local deaf community fellowship at an area mall food court for dinner. They will also be required to write one report per semester. By the end of the course students should have a working knowledge of ASL, sign several Christian songs and understand deaf culture.
