Note: The forms below are for Parents and Families registering for classes or applying for positions at Shanan Home Education. If you are registering and/or signing-up for classes, we also encourage you to use our web-based forms.

Parents & Families


1. New Family Application. If you are a new family to Shanan then you must fill out an application form to give us a brief description of your family and intentions for homeschooling. (Note: Families already attending Homeschool Plus at Ingleside will not be required to fill-out this form.)



2. Registration Form. This is required for every family every school year. It provides a record of the children you will be enrolling, and documents that you have read, understand and agree to the policy manual. Don't forget, you can also go to the on-line electronic registration.


Note: Registration fees are annual, per family and non-refundable unless all the classes you request become unavailable or admission is denied. Registration consists of $20 hall monitor fee plus:

  • $30 per family

  • $20 for the family of teachers and SNCCC members

  • $20 for 2nd semester only, entering the program after Jan. 3rd


3. Class Sign-up Sheet. This worksheet will give us specific information on the classes you are enrolling your child/children. It also helps you to choose classes based on the latest classroom/teacher schedule. If you need further information on the classes themselves, please go to the “Class Descriptions” section of the website. We have also provided an on-line, electronic class sign-up.

 

4. Release (Consent Waiver and Indemnification). A signed copy of this form must be provided for each of your children attending Shanan classes. This covers the legal requirements for using our services and the facilities at South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church.

 

Teacher, Worker, Volunteer

Application. This is a combination of the traditional Homeschool Plus Teacher Application and the screening application required for implementation of our Child Protection Plan (Section III of the Policy Manual). It is intended for all Shanan teachers, workers, and volunteers (i.e. all persons that may be involved in the supervision or custody of minors).

 

Forwarding Applications/Forms. Once complete, the above forms can be provided to Shanan Home Education:

  • Given directly the one of the staff members during registration days. We will offer at least two registration days, one in June and another in mid to late August. The June date is provided in the schedule section below, and the August date is being coordinated with SNCCC, so please check back with us in email, phone call or on our website for an exact date. You will be required to pay the registration fee (discussed in the fees/tuition section) when you register.

  • Mailed to Shanan Home Education, Inc., 701 Hempstead Court, Chesapeake, Virginia 23322. If you are mailing the registration, you must also include the registration fee (check payable to Shanan Home Education), new family application (if appropriate), release/consent waiver, and class sign-up sheet.
