Description: Students will explore the scientific method while performing experiments. Our topics will include learning about magnetism and learning how batteries work. Students will keep a lab book to record the results of their experiments.

Description: This course will explore the amazing world of engineering and technology with exciting games, activities, and experiments. Students will learn the role of engineers in society and make decisions and solve problems about design, materials, and cost. These young engineers in training will conduct a variety of experiments in civil, construction, mechanical, environmental, aeronautical, and materials engineering.

Second Semester Only.

Title: Engineering Science (SC 103) Category: Science

Description: This course is an introduction to engineering. We will begin with a look at engineering as it relates to the 2008 Olympics. We will also explore simple machines (final project: Rube Goldberg machine) and electricity. Students will use their creativity to develop designs and solutions and present those to the class while working individually and in teams.
